Musician Jimmy Levy's path to faith in Jesus was unexpected, marked by a period of exploring the occult within the entertainment world. Following his appearance on "American Idol" in 2020, Levy experienced a dark period, witnessing fellow artists engaging in occult practices, which led him down a similar path. Initially skeptical and seeking acceptance, Levy admits to getting a tattoo of the devil and associating with self-proclaimed devil worshippers.
He soon faced negative consequences, attributing them to a spiritual battle. Levy experienced night terrors and vocal issues, which he now sees as manifestations of spiritual attacks. This led him to acknowledge the reality of Satan. At his lowest, he reconnected with his friend Nick, a leader in online Christian ministry, who had consistently encouraged Levy to explore Christianity. Initially resistant, Levy eventually accepted Nick's message, leading to his conversion, Bible study, and baptism in July 2021.
This spiritual shift also prompted a reevaluation of his political views. Previously a supporter of gun control measures and Black Lives Matter, Levy now feels he was misinformed. He believes artists in the entertainment industry are often unknowingly promoting agendas, and that upon recognizing this, one must prioritize faith and values over worldly gains. In recent years, Levy wrote anthems used in anti-mandate rallies during the COVID-19 pandemic and contributed to songs opposing Target and Pride events, which achieved chart success. While believing these songs served a purpose, Levy is now refocusing on worship music. His single "Amen" was recently released, and he is working on a full worship album, prioritizing his spiritual journey.
