Prior to the start of the Daytona 500, President Donald Trump commended the NASCAR drivers for their bravery in a trackside interview with FOX Sports' Jamie Little. "These drivers have incredible courage," the President remarked, reflecting on his own observations of the race. "It takes a lot of guts to compete at this level."

Accompanied by his granddaughter, President Trump also spoke about the nation's positive trajectory since the beginning of his second term. "The country is thriving again," he stated. "We've reignited a sense of national pride, both at home and abroad. You'll see significant progress in the near future. Things are looking up, and this race is a testament to that excitement."

In a radio transmission to the drivers just before the race commenced, President Trump expressed his admiration. "You are incredibly talented and truly great Americans. Stay safe out there, have a fantastic time, and I’ll see you after the race." In an earlier statement, he praised the Daytona 500 as a symbol of American tradition, competition, and innovation, uniting people from all backgrounds in a shared appreciation for the sport. He further emphasized the event as an embodiment of the American spirit that will propel the nation's continued success.

The President was joined at the speedway by family members, cabinet officials, and several senators and representatives.
