Created: JANUARY 26, 2025

In a defensive struggle on Thursday Night Football, the Seattle Seahawks managed to secure a crucial 6-3 victory over the Chicago Bears. The low-scoring affair saw both teams struggle to find the end zone, with field goals accounting for all the points.

Seattle's opening drive showed promise, moving the ball effectively before stalling in the red zone and settling for a field goal. While it seemed they had a handle on the Bears' defense early, subsequent drives resulted in punts. A second field goal near the end of the first half gave them a 6-0 lead.

The Bears' offense, led by rookie quarterback Caleb Williams, had difficulty gaining traction. Their first three drives yielded minimal yardage. A glimmer of hope appeared in the second quarter when Williams connected with rookie receiver Rome Odunze for what looked like a touchdown, but an offensive holding penalty negated the score, forcing them to settle for a field goal.

The second half remained scoreless, with both teams exhibiting offensive struggles. The Bears thought they had a defensive touchdown when Kyler Gordon scooped up a fumble and ran it back, but the play was overturned as Gordon was ruled down by contact. A late drive by Chicago, fueled by Williams' scrambling ability, offered a chance to tie the game, but an interception on a fourth-down play sealed the win for Seattle.
