Back in October, during a campaign rally in Arizona, then-candidate Donald Trump offered a prediction to Fox News correspondent Bill Melugin: he believed President Biden would eventually pardon his son, Hunter. This premonition came in response to Melugin's question about whether Trump himself would consider such a pardon if he were to return to the presidency.
Trump expressed his reluctance, calling Hunter's situation "sad" and stating he wouldn't take any action against him. He then added, "I’ll bet you the father probably pardons him, let's see what happens, but he’s a bad boy, there is no question about it."

Trump's prediction came to pass on Sunday when President Biden announced his decision to pardon Hunter, citing what he perceived as unfair and selective prosecution. Biden defended his decision, referencing Hunter's struggles with addiction and emphasizing his commitment to non-interference with the Justice Department.
President Biden pointed to what he considered unusual circumstances surrounding Hunter's prosecution, arguing that individuals are rarely prosecuted for firearm form violations without aggravating factors. He also noted that those who rectify tax issues, as Hunter did, typically receive non-criminal resolutions.

Biden's statement also highlighted Hunter's journey to sobriety and accused Republicans of targeting his son to attack him politically. He expressed a desire for the attacks to cease, stating, "Enough is enough."
