Blake Lively's Legal Battle with Justin Baldoni Escalates with Explosive Allegations

Created: JANUARY 24, 2025

A resurfaced clip from 2022 reveals Blake Lively's alleged strategy of concealing her desire for creative control from directors until after signing contracts, a central point of contention in her legal dispute with "It Ends With Us" director Justin Baldoni. Lively's amended complaint, filed on Tuesday, adds further fuel to the fire with a series of new accusations against Baldoni, Wayfarer Studios, and various executives, including shocking comparisons to Hamas and allegations of secret recordings of women.

Lively initially sued Baldoni in December for sexual harassment, retaliation, and other claims, alleging that his behavior caused her emotional distress. Baldoni has denied these allegations and countersued Lively and her husband, Ryan Reynolds, for $400 million, claiming civil extortion and defamation.

The amended complaint outlines several explosive new accusations:

Secret Recordings and Uncomfortable Interactions

Lively alleges that two other actresses felt uncomfortable with Baldoni's behavior, including an incident where he allegedly secretly recorded them. The complaint also claims Baldoni made an unwelcome comment about a female cast member's wardrobe. Lively claims Baldoni once joked about missing a sexual harassment meeting after she told him he had crossed a line.

Text messages included in the complaint show Lively referring to Baldoni and executive producer Jamey Heath as "creeps" and "clowns" in a conversation with a friend, expressing her distress over their behavior.

Disturbing Hamas Comparison

The complaint also alleges that Wayfarer co-founder Steve Sarowitz made a disturbing comparison to Hamas while threatening Lively and Reynolds. He allegedly stated he would protect the studio "like Israel protected itself from Hamas," adding, "There were 39,000 dead bodies. There will be two dead bodies when I'm done." The lawsuit claims Sarowitz made this threat after telling someone at the film's premiere he was prepared to spend $100 million to ruin Lively and her family's lives.

Lively's Legal Team and Baldoni's Response

Lively's lawyers stated the amended complaint contains substantial evidence corroborating her claims and highlighting the alleged harassment and intimidation she and others faced. Lively's spokesperson added that other women on set were afraid to come forward due to potential public backlash, but have given Lively permission to share their communications and will testify in the discovery process.

Baldoni's attorney, Bryan Freedman, dismissed the claims as "hearsay" and criticized the amended complaint as being filled with unsubstantiated claims from unnamed individuals. He emphasized that his clients have been transparent and provided evidence that contradicts Lively's narrative.
