After a protracted and highly publicized eight-year legal battle, actors Brad Pitt, 61, and Angelina Jolie, 49, have finally reached a divorce settlement. Jolie's attorney, James Simon, confirmed the agreement to Fox News Digital, stating that the former couple finalized the terms on Monday. This concludes one chapter in a lengthy process that began eight years prior with Jolie's initial filing. Simon emphasized Jolie's focus on healing and peace for her family throughout this period and expressed her relief at reaching this resolution.

A source close to Jolie shared with Fox News Digital that she has refrained from speaking negatively about Pitt publicly or privately and has been striving for positivity following a challenging period. The source also mentioned the children's observation of the power dynamics at play and their desire for Jolie to advocate for herself. However, Jolie has reportedly encouraged her children to focus on legislative change rather than public narratives.

The couple's relationship began on the set of their 2004 film "Mr. and Mrs. Smith" and became public after Pitt's separation from Jennifer Aniston. Their romance garnered significant media attention, leading to the nickname "Brangelina." They married in 2014 at their French estate, Château Miraval, and share six children: Maddox, Pax, Knox, Zahara, Shiloh, and Vivienne.
Jolie filed for divorce in 2016 following an alleged physical altercation with Pitt on a private jet involving their children. Pitt denied the allegations, and the FBI investigation yielded no charges. While a judge declared them legally single in 2019, asset division and custody arrangements remained unresolved. A subsequent custody ruling by a private judge was overturned due to a conflict of interest, further prolonging the proceedings. With four of their children now adults, the custody agreement primarily concerns the 16-year-old twins, Knox and Vivienne. Shiloh legally removed Pitt's name from her surname in June.

Separate from the divorce, a legal dispute continues over Château Miraval. Pitt alleges Jolie violated their agreement by selling her share of the winery to the Stoli Group without his knowledge. A judge ruled in favor of Pitt's claim, acknowledging the existence of implied and verbal agreements concerning the property. Pitt has sought to reverse the sale to Yuri Shefler. Jolie's company counters that Pitt has engaged in a campaign to undermine the winery's profitability since the divorce filing.

Since the separation, Pitt has been dating jewelry designer Ines de Ramon, making their first public appearance at the Venice Film Festival in September. A source confirmed to People magazine in October that Jolie is currently not dating and remains focused on her family.
