Vice President Kamala Harris's team's decision to forego an interview with Joe Rogan has sparked discussion and speculation. While the campaign cites scheduling conflicts as the reason Harris didn't appear on "The Joe Rogan Experience," some aides have hinted at a more complex situation.
Stephanie Cutter, a senior campaign advisor, stated on the "Pod Save America" podcast that despite mutual interest and initial discussions, finding a suitable date proved impossible. Harris was in Houston for a rally with Beyoncé, and Rogan's studio is in Austin, but coordinating schedules didn't pan out. Coincidentally, Donald Trump recorded his Rogan interview the same day.

Cutter maintained that Harris was prepared for the interview and that its primary value would have been the act of appearing on a popular platform, rather than the specific content discussed. She left open the possibility of a future appearance.
However, another advisor, David Plouffe, raised the possibility that Rogan might have used the Harris campaign's interest to secure Trump's participation. He pointed out that the campaign's offer to record in Austin preceded Trump's interview and speculated that Rogan might have leveraged this to bring Trump into the studio. He added that the campaign offered to do the interview on the road after the Texas trip, but it ultimately didn't happen.
Rogan himself has addressed the situation, stating that he extended an open invitation to Harris while she was in Texas. He denied any "diva" behavior on Harris's part and reiterated his willingness to host her.

Furthermore, a November report in the Financial Times revealed internal concerns within the Democratic Party about how an interview with Rogan might be perceived. Jennifer Palmieri, an advisor to Doug Emhoff, reportedly stated that some progressive staff members expressed reservations, contributing to the decision.
Rogan eventually endorsed Trump shortly before the election. Fox News has contacted Rogan's representative for comment.
