Novak Djokovic has ascended back to the top of the men's tennis rankings, surpassing Carlos Alcaraz after securing his record-breaking 23rd Grand Slam title at the French Open. This achievement further solidifies Djokovic's place in tennis history, adding to his already impressive record for most weeks at No. 1 in the ATP rankings.

Djokovic's journey back to the top spot began at the French Open, where he entered as the world No. 3. His quarterfinal exit the previous year fueled his determination, culminating in a dominant performance throughout the tournament. Key victories included a semifinal win against Alcaraz (6-3, 5-7, 6-1, 6-1) and a final victory over Casper Ruud (7-6 (1), 6-3, 7-5).

This win elevates Djokovic's French Open title count to three, adding to his impressive tally of 10 Australian Open titles, seven Wimbledon titles, and three US Open titles. He has now surpassed his rival Rafael Nadal, who holds 22 Grand Slam titles.

Following the tournament, Alcaraz dropped to No. 2, Daniil Medvedev to No. 3 after a first-round exit, while Ruud maintained his position at No. 4. Rafael Nadal, sidelined due to a hip injury, fell out of the Top 100 to No. 136.

On the women's side, Iga Swiatek retained her No. 1 ranking after winning her third French Open title in four years. This victory also marks her fourth Grand Slam title overall. Swiatek has held the top position since April 2022, following Ash Barty's retirement.

Aryna Sabalenka, the Australian Open champion, had an opportunity to overtake Swiatek but fell short in the semifinals against Karolina Muchova. Muchova's impressive run propelled her to a career-high ranking of No. 16, a significant jump from her previous position at No. 43.

Wimbledon champion Elena Rybakina, who withdrew from the French Open due to illness, currently holds the No. 3 spot, followed by Caroline Garcia at No. 4 and Jessica Pegula at No. 5. Beatriz Haddad Maia, who reached the semifinals before losing to Swiatek, made a remarkable leap to No. 10, becoming the first Brazilian woman to break into the top 10 rankings.
