Stamford, Connecticut witnessed a dramatic rooftop arrest last Wednesday as police apprehended a woman suspected of intruding into a home. The incident began when a homeowner reported an unknown woman entering his residence and starting an argument. Responding officers found the woman inside, but she fled to the roof as they approached.
After securing the perimeter, officers observed the woman on the three-story roof, refusing to comply with requests to descend. A hostage negotiation team was called in, resulting in a six-hour standoff. To monitor the situation and provide negotiators with real-time information, the Stamford Police Department deployed a drone.

Drone footage captured the intense moments leading up to the arrest. A male officer, without a harness, attempted to offer the woman water. Simultaneously, a female officer, secured by a rope, positioned herself behind a chimney. A Stamford Fire Department truck's crane lifted two additional officers to the roof. These officers strategically approached the woman from behind, and together, the four officers took her into custody.

Following the arrest, the woman was transported to a local hospital for evaluation. Charges have not yet been announced. Mayor Caroline Simmons commended the collaborative efforts of the Stamford Police Department, Fire Department, and EMS in this remarkable rescue.
