Philadelphia Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni fiercely defended wide receiver A.J. Brown against criticism surrounding his sideline reading habit during their playoff victory against the Green Bay Packers. Brown was spotted reading "Inner Excellence" by Jim Murphy, a practice he explained helps him maintain focus. This was simply the first time cameras captured it.

In a Tuesday interview on Sports Radio 94 WIP, Sirianni expressed his support for Brown, emphasizing that the receiver has engaged in this practice for a considerable period. He likened it to other players' methods of centering themselves, such as prayer or meditation. Sirianni praised Brown as an exceptional teammate and highlighted teammate Jahan Dotson’s defense of Brown as further evidence of the team’s camaraderie.

Sirianni criticized those who jumped to conclusions without understanding the context, labeling such reactions as "lazy." He underscored the importance of understanding an individual's actions before passing judgment, particularly regarding someone like Brown, whom he lauded as a remarkable person and arguably the best receiver the city has seen.

Interestingly, the incident propelled Brown’s book to the top of Amazon’s bestseller list. While the Eagles secured a win, they hope to see increased on-field production from Brown, whose receptions have been limited in recent games. The Eagles are set to host the Los Angeles Rams in the divisional round.
