Video footage from a Ring doorbell camera on May 11 reveals fugitive Michael Burham's activities just hours after he allegedly shot and killed Kala Hodgkin in New York. In the video, Burham is seen on a woman's porch around 4:30 a.m., wearing a cap, jacket, and sweatpants, carrying items under his arm. He attaches a piece of rubber to the glass door and leaves a fire extinguisher. Moments later, the camera captures a car engulfed in flames nearby.

This incident occurred shortly after Hodgkin's death, with whom Burham shared a daughter. Court documents indicate Burham was already wanted for allegedly raping Hodgkin before the shooting. He evaded capture for 11 days until, on May 20, a Pennsylvania couple and their vehicle were reported missing. They were found safe two days later in South Carolina, along with a note from Burham to his father.

The note, part of court records, expresses remorse for his actions' impact on children but not for the actions themselves. He mentions quitting alcohol on May 10 and apologizes to his family for the trouble he caused.

An anonymous source familiar with Burham describes him as a heavy drinker and cocaine user in recent years. After being spotted near a shed, he was apprehended on May 23 following a two-hour pursuit, only to escape again, prompting a large-scale manhunt led by Pennsylvania State Police. He is considered armed and dangerous.

A former Army reservist with survival skills, Burham is suspected of receiving assistance while evading authorities. Police believe he remains in or near Warren County. Several witnesses have been relocated for safety. While skilled in survival techniques, a source suggests Burham may struggle to sustain himself in the long term. A reward of up to $9,500 is offered for information leading to his arrest.
