She pointed out that she had previously collaborated with Governor Kemp, who had signed several of her bills into law. Mainor connected the negative messages she received to the reactions of some within the Democratic Party, suggesting it revealed their true attitudes towards minority groups, further solidifying her decision to join the Republican Party.

Mainor emphasized her commitment to education and school choice as her primary legislative focus, expressing concern over the low reading and math proficiency levels in her community. She believes this is a critical issue for the future American workforce and pledged to work with Republicans to address it. Mainor explained that her decision to switch parties stemmed from the lack of support she received from her Democrat colleagues when she advocated for school choice and safe communities, including opposing efforts to defund the police.
