Jeopardy! Contestant Thanks Céline Dion, Then Blanks on Her Hit Song

In a recent episode of "Jeopardy!" during the Champions Wildcard Tournament, contestant Drew Goins experienced a humorous moment of stage fright involving the iconic singer Céline Dion. After thanking his fellow contestants, Goins, prompted by a producer, gave a shout-out to Dion, saying, "So, thank you, Céline Dion," directly to the camera. Host Ken Jennings playfully inquired, "Does she know what she did?" Goins quipped back, "Oh, she does, deep down," hinting at an inside joke without elaborating.

A split of Celine Dion and Drew trying to come up with the answer

The irony struck moments later when Goins faced a $2,000 clue about Dion's music. Jennings read, "Sharing its title with an earlier, more upbeat Huey Lewis hit, it was No. 1 for Céline Dion in 1994." Goins visibly struggled, putting his hand to his head in thought. Unable to recall the song title, he put down his buzzer and jokingly walked off stage amidst audience laughter, before returning for a hug from a fellow contestant. Jennings then revealed the answer: "The Power of Love," a song that also topped the charts for Huey Lewis and the News in the early 1980s.

The Jeopardy question

None of the other contestants managed to answer correctly either. Goins later jokingly attributed his lapse to being born in 1994, the same year Dion's version hit number one. "Jeopardy!" shared the clip on social media, playfully referencing Dion’s Titanic theme song, "My Heart Will Go On," with the caption, "Here's hoping Drew’s heart will go on."
