Former college and NFL quarterback Jesse Palmer recently shared his insights on various football topics, from the College Football Playoff format to the upcoming NFL Draft. Speaking with Fox News Digital, Palmer, now a broadcaster, offered a unique perspective shaped by his experience both on and off the field.
Reflecting on the recent College Football Playoff games, Palmer advocated for conference champions to earn playoff berths, while also suggesting adjustments to the seeding process. He felt that some of the quarterfinal matchups, like Oregon vs. Ohio State and Georgia vs. Notre Dame, possessed the intensity and caliber of semifinal games. He praised Arizona State's impressive season, highlighting their turnaround from a 3-9 record the previous year and navigating NCAA sanctions. He emphasized their talent and deserved place in the playoff picture, while still believing the overall playoff structure needs refinement.

Palmer also addressed the challenges faced by Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers, drawing parallels to his own experience playing alongside Rex Grossman and Brock Berlin at Florida. He commended Ewers for his perseverance despite the intense scrutiny and pressure stemming from Arch Manning's arrival and strong performances. Palmer noted the difficulty of playing quarterback under such circumstances, where a single interception or loss could potentially lead to a change in position.

Beyond the college game, Palmer discussed his partnership with Heluva Good! Dips and Harpoon Brewery, emphasizing the importance of good food and drinks during football viewing parties. He expressed his enthusiasm for the French onion-flavored beer, a combination of his favorite dip flavor and preferred beer style.

Looking ahead to the NFL Draft, Palmer identified Shedeur Sanders and Cam Ward as the potential top two quarterback selections. He acknowledged the possibility of changes in the draft landscape but emphasized the athleticism and accuracy of Sanders, as well as the natural passing ability and X-factor possessed by Ward. He suggested that teams may need to be strategic and aggressive to secure one of these talented quarterbacks.
