As wildfires continue to impact California, actors are stepping up to support relief efforts. A recent fundraising event, LA Wildfire Relief LIVE, brought together numerous celebrities, including Katey Sagal, Ke Huy Quan, and Jason Segel, and generated over $1.6 million for various charities. The event benefited organizations like the Tiltify Impact Fund for LAFD Wildfire Emergency Fund, California Fire Foundation, World Central Kitchen, Baby2Baby, and CORE (Community Organized Relief Effort).

Katey Sagal, a Los Angeles native, shared her personal connection to the fires, having grown up in the affected area. She found the destruction "unbelievably heartbreaking" and described the experience as an "overwhelming time." Sagal's own home was filled with smoke, forcing her family to evacuate for ten days. While grateful to have escaped property damage, she expressed empathy for those who weren't as fortunate.

Ke Huy Quan, who has lived in Los Angeles for over 45 years, also shared his experience of frantically packing and evacuating with his wife. He highlighted the precariousness of the situation, recognizing how quickly one can lose everything. Quan praised the firefighters as "true heroes" for their swift action in containing the blaze.

Jason Segel, who has been involved with CORE for years, spoke about the long road to recovery ahead for Los Angeles. CORE co-founder Ann Lee discussed the organization’s efforts, including distributing resources, running a child-friendly space in a Pasadena shelter, and providing financial assistance to affected families.

The article also mentioned President Donald Trump's visit to Southern California to assess the fire damage and Governor Gavin Newsom's expression of gratitude for the visit.
