Mainstream Media Blackout: Biden Bribery Allegations Ignored Amidst Trump Indictment Frenzy

Created: JANUARY 22, 2025

A recent study reveals a stark contrast in media coverage: while major networks dedicated extensive airtime to former President Trump's indictment, allegations against President Biden during the same timeframe were completely overlooked.

An analysis by the Media Research Center's NewsBusters found that ABC, CBS, and NBC collectively spent 291 minutes covering Trump's indictment between June 8 and 12. In striking contrast, these networks offered zero coverage of a breaking story from Fox News Digital concerning the Biden family.

The Fox News Digital report, based on sources familiar with a confidential FBI interview, alleges that President Biden received $5 million from an executive at Burisma Holdings, a Ukrainian natural gas company. Hunter Biden, who served on Burisma's board, also allegedly benefited from this arrangement.

Media coverage focused heavily on Trump's indictment while ignoring allegations against President Biden.

While these significant allegations surfaced, prominent reporters at the major networks concentrated solely on Trump's indictment. George Stephanopoulos of "Good Morning America" discussed the indictment as a test of the principle that "no person is above the law." Norah O'Donnell of "CBS Evening News" described the indictment as "historic" and "breathtaking in its scope and devastating in its detail." Lester Holt of "NBC Nightly News" characterized the charges as "stunning."

L. Brent Bozell, founder and president of the Media Research Center, criticized the networks for their lack of Biden coverage. He expressed concern over the apparent double standard in reporting on allegations against political figures. He questioned the networks' journalistic integrity, suggesting they prioritize narratives that target one candidate while shielding another.

Fox News Digital contacted ABC, CBS, and NBC for comment, and this article will be updated with any responses received.
