Dutch authorities apprehended a homeless man carrying a stolen inflatable palm tree, uncovering his connection to a seven-year-old manslaughter case in Belgium. The man, whose identity remains undisclosed due to Dutch privacy regulations, was stopped by police in Geldrop on Saturday night. He was carrying a large inflatable palm tree, suspected to have been taken from a local beach volleyball event.
Upon verifying his identity, officers discovered an outstanding warrant from Belgian authorities. The 34-year-old had been sentenced to 18 years in prison for his involvement in the 2016 death of a man in Zonhoven, Belgium, a town approximately 40 miles south of Geldrop. The specifics of the case and conviction are not yet publicly available.

The suspect is currently detained in the Netherlands, awaiting extradition to Belgium to serve his sentence.
