Soccer star Trinity Rodman recently shared candid insights into her complex relationship with her father, former NBA player Dennis Rodman. In an interview on the "Call Her Daddy" podcast, Trinity, who plays for the Washington Spirit, expressed her frustration with constantly being asked about her father during interviews, citing the emotional toll it takes.

She described the internal conflict of wanting to protect her father's image while grappling with personal "trauma" stemming from their relationship. "I think we never want to make him look bad," she explained, "and that is at the cost of kind of holding in a lot... and just trauma per se." She emphasized feeling pressured to answer for her father's feelings and actions, despite having limited knowledge of them.

Trinity admitted to feeling frustrated with herself for empathizing with her father, particularly when he publicly involves his children in his life. She described him as "an extremely selfish human being" who thrives on attention and uses his children for publicity. She recounted instances where he would bring them on stage, emphasizing how these actions, though seemingly innocuous, have deeply impacted her emotionally.

Trinity revealed that she doesn't have her father's number saved and that they often go months without communication. Despite this, she said he occasionally contacts her, sometimes intoxicated, with invitations to participate in reality TV shows. She described the experience of hearing his voice as "painful" and shared an anecdote about him leaving a lengthy voicemail from a Texas number, a state she wasn't aware he resided in. Overwhelmed by the prospect of listening to the message, she chose to ignore it.
