CBS Mornings recently featured Nadya Okamoto, CEO of August, a company producing menstrual pads designed to be inclusive of all genders. Okamoto emphasized the importance of creating sustainable and comfortable pads while promoting a "period positive" and "gender-inclusive" message. Host Gayle King praised the product's aim to "reimagine and redefine the period experience." Okamoto repeatedly used the term "menstruators" to encompass individuals of all genders who experience menstruation. She highlighted the stigma surrounding periods and expressed her commitment to creating a brand that caters to everyone, particularly in what she described as an "age of transphobia." Okamoto also discussed the eco-conscious design of the pads, minimizing plastic use while maximizing comfort and absorbency. She underscored August's dedication to inclusivity, stating, "On the back it says, ‘We’re here for everyone who menstruates.’"
