Late Saturday night, a Douglas County Sheriff's deputy shot and killed an armed man outside the Main Event entertainment center in Highlands Ranch, Colorado. Authorities believe this incident is linked to a shooting that happened moments earlier inside the venue, where a woman shot another woman.

The deputy, first to arrive at the scene after reports of an active shooter, confronted the armed man in the parking lot. The man reportedly disregarded the deputy's commands to disarm, turning towards the officer, which led to the fatal shooting. Despite immediate life-saving efforts, the man died at the scene.

Inside the crowded entertainment center, a woman sustained gunshot wounds to her chest and foot. She was quickly transported to a hospital and is anticipated to recover. Sheriff Darren Weekly addressed the media, confirming multiple shots fired within the venue. He stated the deceased man found outside is likely connected to the internal shooting.

The female suspect involved in the indoor shooting has been apprehended. While authorities are actively investigating and interviewing numerous witnesses, specific details regarding the identities of the deceased man and the female suspects have not yet been released.
