Comer: More Witnesses and Evidence to Emerge in Biden Family Probe

Created: JANUARY 21, 2025

Representative James Comer, Chair of the House Oversight Committee, has revealed that further witnesses and sources are expected to come forward in the ongoing investigation into President Biden and his family's alleged involvement in bribery and influence peddling. In an interview with Fox News' "Life, Liberty & Levin," Comer expressed confidence in the progress made by his committee, despite facing limitations compared to the Justice Department or executive branch agencies.

Comer emphasized the committee's success in obtaining bank records and access to suspicious activity reports from the Treasury Department, despite initial skepticism. He highlighted the discovery of indirect wire transfers originating from Romania and China to nine Biden family members through shell companies while Biden was vice president. The emergence of an FBI 1023 form, detailing bribery allegations from a credible informant, has further intensified the investigation.

Comer questioned the Justice Department's apparent inaction on the information presented in the 1023 form, citing concerns expressed by the FBI about jeopardizing the informant's safety. He also pointed to a pattern of resistance from government agencies, such as the IRS focusing solely on tax evasion claims against Hunter Biden, while neglecting to investigate shell companies and potential money laundering activities.

Comer reiterated the committee's commitment to following the money trail, anticipating more bank records and depositions from key figures involved in the alleged influence-peddling schemes. He acknowledged the challenges posed by the FBI, DOJ, congressional Democrats, and mainstream media but expressed determination to pursue the investigation.
