Singer-songwriter Lainey Wilson and her longtime boyfriend, former NFL quarterback Devlin "Duck" Hodges, are officially engaged! Wilson shared the exciting news on her Instagram on February 12th, captioning the post with "4x4xU forever." The post featured a collection of photos capturing the special moment, including a video showcasing Wilson's joyful reaction.

The engagement comes just a month after Wilson jokingly hinted during a CMT interview with Bunnie Xo that she might have to take matters into her own hands and propose to Hodges. The couple has been dating for three years. Bunnie Xo, wife of musician Jelly Roll, had predicted a 2025 engagement, leading to Wilson's playful response about potentially popping the question herself.

This playful banter about proposals isn't new for the couple. After publicly revealing their relationship at the ACM Awards in May 2023, Wilson had joked on the "Bobby Bones Show" about having to propose to Hodges since he hadn't done so yet. At the time, she mentioned wanting to wait for a less hectic period in their lives to fully savor the engagement. She praised Hodges as a "good dude" who understands the demands of chasing a dream, having pursued his own NFL career with the Pittsburgh Steelers and Los Angeles Rams. Hodges now works in real estate.

Wilson has often spoken fondly of Hodges' support, calling him one of her biggest cheerleaders. She previously shared with Fox News Digital how much she appreciates his unwavering encouragement, especially given the demanding nature of her career. At the 2024 CMT Awards, Wilson also expressed her admiration for Hodges, referring to him as a "looker."

The origin of Hodges' nickname, "Duck," comes from his college football coach, who saw similarities between Hodges and a former quarterback the coach had worked with, also nicknamed "Duck." Coincidentally, Wilson shared on "The Bobby Bones Show" that Hodges is also an avid duck hunter.
