A devastating collision claimed the lives of a father and son traveling to college orientation in Orlando, Florida. The accident, allegedly caused by a repeat DUI offender, has left the family reeling and demanding justice.
50-year-old Shane Lloyd and his 19-year-old son, Jakob, were driving from their Colorado home to the University of Central Florida on Sunday afternoon. Their journey was tragically cut short when a white Jeep, driven by 40-year-old Leslie Gehret, reportedly ran a red light and struck their Kia, causing it to roll over multiple times.

Witness Chase Woodburn described the horrific scene to local news, recounting how he and his fiancée immediately called 911 and rushed to assist those involved. He noted that Gehret appeared to be in shock following the impact.

This marks Gehret's third DUI charge, according to prosecutors. She is now also facing two counts each of homicide and manslaughter. Her bond is currently set at over $700,000.
