Three former Indiana University men's basketball players have come forward with allegations of sexual abuse against the team's former physician, Dr. Bradford Bomba Sr. The accusations involve unnecessary prostate exams performed during their time on the team.

Haris Mujezinovic and Charlie Miller initially filed a lawsuit against Bomba in October, with John Flowers joining the legal action this week. Flowers, who played for Indiana in the early 1980s, claims he was subjected to at least two unwarranted prostate exams. The lawsuit also names longtime trainer Tim Garl as a defendant, alleging he was aware of Bomba's inappropriate examinations and even made jokes about them to the players.

While Indiana University declined to comment directly on the lawsuit, they referenced a September statement indicating an independent review of the matter is underway. The players' attorney, Kathleen Delaney, estimates that Bomba may have abused as many as 100 athletes during his tenure at the university. Neither Garl nor Bomba's legal representation have responded to requests for comment. Bomba himself invoked his Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination during a recent deposition.

Mujezinovic and Miller, who played under legendary coach Bobby Knight in the 1990s, also allege they were subjected to unnecessary prostate exams by Bomba. The lawsuit claims these examinations were openly discussed amongst the players and that some members of the coaching and training staff were aware of them. All three players have expressed their desire for justice and hope that their coming forward will encourage others to share their stories.
Bomba was employed by Indiana University in two separate periods: from 1962 to 1970 and again from 1979 to the late 1990s.
