From Hollywood to Homegrown: Daniel Stern's Tranquil Life on the Farm

Created: JANUARY 26, 2025

While renowned for his role as Marv, one of the memorable Wet Bandits in the 1990 Christmas classic "Home Alone," Daniel Stern has opted for a quieter existence away from the glitz and glamour of Hollywood. He now dedicates his time to a more pastoral lifestyle, raising cattle and pursuing his artistic passion for sculpture at his Ventura, California farm.

Stern recently offered fans a glimpse into his current life, sharing a TikTok video where he showcases his tangerine orchard. He explains his process of juicing, freezing, and sharing the citrus fruits with friends. Beyond tending to his fruit trees and livestock, Stern also revealed his talent as a sculptor in another video, displaying an impressive work-in-progress of a woman reclining on a chair, which garnered much admiration from viewers.

Stern's memoir, "Home and Alone," released earlier this year, provides further insight into his career journey. He candidly shared with the Los Angeles Times about pivotal moments and decisions that shaped his path, including almost losing the role of Marv due to contractual disagreements. Fortunately, he was able to reclaim the part, a turn of events for which he expresses deep gratitude. Stern cherishes the connection he has with fans who approach him with heartwarming expressions of appreciation for the joy his work has brought to their families, particularly during the holiday season.
