A 29-year-old Houston man is facing capital murder charges following the discovery of a deceased 28-year-old mother and her 2-year-old child in a Houston apartment. Police identified the suspect as Kendrick Rayvon Fisher.
Houston Police Department officers responded to a call early Friday morning regarding a potential hostage situation. Upon arrival, they found Fisher asleep inside the apartment. A subsequent search revealed the bodies of the mother and child, both suffering from multiple stab wounds. They were pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities noted that Fisher exhibited injuries suggesting a physical altercation and had blood on his clothing. In collaboration with the Harris County District Attorney's office, homicide detectives determined there was sufficient evidence to charge Fisher with capital murder. He is currently being held in the Harris County Jail. Jail records indicate Fisher was released from prison in December 2023 after serving time for armed robbery and a contraband offense.
The victims' identities are being withheld pending notification of their next of kin.
