Authorities responded to a 911 call reporting a crying infant just after 6 a.m. on Sunday. Upon arrival at the scene on Rev. James A. Polite Avenue, they discovered the baby girl wrapped in blankets inside a green tote bag left in front of an apartment building.

This incident has understandably shaken the local community, with one resident expressing their dismay to FOX 5 NY, stating, "Hearing that this is even a thing is very disturbing for this neighborhood."

Surveillance footage released by the NYPD shows an individual wearing a black hooded coat walking along the sidewalk carrying a green tote bag. While the individual's gender remains undetermined, the NYPD has urged the public to review the video for any potential clues.
