Ivanka Trump's choice of attire for her father's inauguration ceremony sparked considerable interest, particularly her custom Givenchy Haute Couture gown, reminiscent of a design Audrey Hepburn wore in the 1954 film "Sabrina." This tribute to the iconic actress wasn't entirely unexpected, given Hepburn's lasting influence on fashion and Hollywood.

Hepburn's son, Sean Hepburn Ferrer, acknowledged the connection, suggesting that Ivanka's upbringing in a family familiar with his mother's fame likely inspired her fashion choice. He found the timing particularly poignant, coinciding with the inauguration, the anniversary of Hepburn's passing, and Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
The gown itself was a strapless black and white creation, adorned with floral embellishments. Ivanka complemented the dress with a sophisticated updo, diamond jewelry, and long black gloves. She and her husband, Jared Kushner, shared a dance at the Liberty Ball in Washington, D.C.

Interestingly, there are historical links between the Hepburn and Trump families. Marla Maples, Donald Trump's second wife, was involved with the Audrey Hepburn Children's Fund, and the fund even hosted an event for Tiffany Trump's first birthday, themed after Hepburn's film "Breakfast at Tiffany's."

Ferrer believes Hepburn's enduring appeal stems from her inherent elegance and spirit, serving as a source of inspiration for numerous celebrities and public figures. He highlighted her transgenerational and transnational legacy, noting her impact over several decades.

Another connection between the families involves Roffredo Gaetani, who was linked to Ivana Trump and whose father was a friend of Hepburn's.

Beyond her Hollywood career, Hepburn dedicated her later years to humanitarian work with UNICEF. She passed away from cancer in 1993. More recently, Ferrer and his wife authored a children's book, "Little Audrey's Daydream," exploring Hepburn's challenging childhood and the power of her dreams.
