On "The View," Joy Behar clashed with Democratic strategist James Carville's advice for Democrats to "play possum" in response to protests against Donald Trump. Behar firmly disagreed with this passive approach, as well as with her co-host Sara Haines's similar sentiment, emphasizing the importance of action in the face of perceived threats to democracy.
Behar argued that inaction empowers the opposition, urging Americans to multitask: participate in protests and contact their Republican representatives to express their discontent. She stressed the urgency of addressing what she sees as an erosion of democratic principles.

Co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin suggested Democrats prioritize their battles, focusing on issues directly impacting voters. Sunny Hostin, however, expressed a sense of resignation, reflecting on the outcome of the previous election.
Carville's original statement, made during a discussion with MSNBC's Ari Melber, advised Democrats to avoid interfering with the ongoing protests and allow the situation to unfold. He likened the movement to a "freight train" and recommended stepping aside.

This isn't Behar's first public disagreement with Trump. She previously criticized his renaming of the Gulf of Mexico and questioned the naming of America after a white man.
