Florida Chief Financial Officer Jimmy Patronis, vying for the former House seat of Matt Gaetz, has declared his intent to champion President Trump's agenda, particularly focusing on eliminating "wokeness" in government and society. In a recent interview, Patronis expressed his eagerness to support Trump's initiatives and bring "common sense" back to the forefront of American politics.
Patronis also indicated his interest in joining the House Freedom Caucus, stating that many of their principles align with his own belief that citizens manage their finances more effectively than the government. He has also proposed a study to explore the feasibility of making gold and silver legal tender in Florida.
Patronis believes that gold and silver, trusted assets for millennia, are a sound choice for legal tender and has initiated a study to determine the best implementation strategy. He hopes this study will encourage the Florida legislature to enact legislation promoting this form of "economic freedom."
Besides Trump's endorsement, Patronis has also garnered support from prominent House Republicans, including Speaker Mike Johnson, Majority Leader Steve Scalise, and Majority Whip Tom Emmer. The special election is scheduled for April 1st, preceded by a special Republican primary next month.
