Created: JANUARY 18, 2025

A Philadelphia resident defended her home by opening fire on a group of intruders who forced their way into her apartment early Sunday morning. Security footage appears to show a man walking past a house as the unrelated manhunt for Michael Burham continues elsewhere.

According to the Philadelphia Police Department, officers responded to a shooting report in the Germantown neighborhood around 1:34 a.m. They discovered the female resident on Germantown Avenue near one of the injured suspects. The woman explained to authorities that four unidentified men had entered her apartment without permission.

A confrontation occurred, leading the resident to shoot at the intruders as they attempted to escape. One suspect, identified as 48-year-old Jermaine Parker, sustained gunshot wounds to his right leg and arm. He was transported to Einstein Medical Center Philadelphia after receiving on-site medical treatment. Police later located a second suspect, 45-year-old Randy Miller, on a nearby street. Miller, suffering from a gunshot wound to the back, was also taken to Einstein Medical Center Philadelphia in critical but stable condition.
