Created: JANUARY 25, 2025

Las Vegas Raiders defensive end Charles Snowden was arrested on Tuesday for driving under the influence, according to reports. The 26-year-old faces a misdemeanor charge following an incident where Las Vegas police responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle near a major intersection southwest of the Las Vegas Strip. Snowden was subsequently released without bail.

The Raiders have acknowledged the situation, stating they are in communication with both the NFL and law enforcement regarding the incident.

This is not the first time a Raiders player has faced DUI charges since the team's relocation to Las Vegas in 2020. The most notable instance involved former wide receiver Henry Ruggs in 2021. Ruggs was involved in a high-speed collision resulting in the death of a woman and her dog, ultimately leading to a prison sentence.

More recently, in November 2023, the Raiders released reserve defensive safety Roderic Teamer after his arrest for DUI and speeding. Teamer eventually pleaded no contest to reckless driving.

The impact of Snowden's arrest on his future with the team remains uncertain. The Raiders are scheduled to play their next game on Monday against the Atlanta Falcons in Las Vegas.

Having played in all 13 games this season, starting in seven, Snowden's recent performance marks a significant return to the field after limited appearances with the Chicago Bears in 2021 and a subsequent absence from NFL action. His court date is set for April 15th.
