A residential high-rise in Ajman, one of the seven emirates of the UAE, caught fire early Tuesday. Videos circulating online depicted the blaze, which appeared to engulf a corner of the building from the ground up, sending debris falling to the street below.

Firefighters were quickly on the scene battling the flames. Ajman News, a local media source, later confirmed that the fire had been successfully extinguished. Images shared on their Instagram account showed the charred remains of the building's exterior and firefighters present at the scene.
While there have been no immediate reports of casualties, authorities in the UAE have not yet released an official statement. This incident follows a pattern of similar fires in recent years across the UAE, often attributed to flammable cladding used on many high-rise structures. A notable example is the 2015 New Year's Eve fire at a luxury hotel and residential complex near the Burj Khalifa in Dubai, which resulted in several injuries. Following that incident, regulations were implemented mandating the replacement of flammable cladding with fire-resistant materials.
