An independent Title IX investigation into allegations against Florida Gators men's basketball coach Todd Golden has concluded, finding no evidence to substantiate the claims. Golden's attorney, William Shepherd, released a statement confirming the dismissal of the case, emphasizing the accusations were baseless. The investigation stemmed from a complaint filed on September 29th, alleging sexual harassment, exploitation, stalking, and cyberstalking of multiple women, including students. These allegations, initially reported in the university's student newspaper, detailed unwanted advances on social media, requests for sexual favors, and the sending of explicit photos and videos.

Shepherd expressed strong criticism of those who, he claims, attempted to manipulate the situation and create a false narrative around Coach Golden. He accused certain individuals of leaking confidential information, impersonating a university lawyer to intimidate, and harassing students, parents, as well as Golden, his family, and friends. Shepherd indicated that legal action may be considered in the future, but for now, the focus is on moving forward and the upcoming basketball season.

In November, Golden himself denied the allegations and hinted at the possibility of a defamation lawsuit. He stated that he had been cooperating fully with the university's inquiry and had sought legal counsel regarding potential defamation claims. He expressed gratitude for the support he and his family had received and maintained confidence in the university's process. With the investigation now concluded, Golden can concentrate on his coaching duties and consider his legal options after the season.
