Over 100 bipartisan members of Congress have joined forces to tackle government waste through the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) initiative, spearheaded by Elon Musk. This initiative, originally co-led by Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy, was established under the direction of former President Donald Trump.
While the initiative has garnered substantial support in the House, reflected in the considerable size of the DOGE Caucus, it has also faced strong opposition from some Democrats who question Musk's influence and lack of government experience.

The caucus, exceeding 100 members—a significant portion of the House—is actively developing legislation to reduce spending and advance elements of Trump's agenda. Representatives Aaron Bean (R-Fla.), Pete Sessions (R-Texas), and Blake Moore (R-Utah) are leading the group.

The caucus has established eight working groups focusing on areas ripe for streamlining, including retirement, family support, emergency funding, natural resources, homeland security, defense and veteran affairs, workforce and infrastructure, and government finance and operations. These groups are actively pursuing strategies to identify and eliminate wasteful spending.

Public engagement with the initiative has been substantial, with over 40,000 people submitting suggestions to the caucus’s tip line. Some of these suggestions have been shared with Musk's DOGE team for consideration. Furthermore, caucus members have been encouraged to introduce legislation targeting government waste.
