America's Republican governors have voiced their strong backing for President-elect Trump's Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) initiative. In a letter addressed to Congressional leaders and obtained by Fox News, the governors expressed their full support for DOGE and its mission to balance the federal budget.
Drawing on their experience as state leaders, the governors emphasized their familiarity with streamlining government processes, eliminating unnecessary bureaucracy, and implementing efficient solutions. They pledged their support for President Trump's efforts to replicate these successes at the federal level.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk and entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy, appointed by President-elect Trump to lead DOGE, have been collaborating with Congress on the initiative. Both the House and Senate have established dedicated bodies to work alongside Musk and Ramaswamy.
The governors underscored the success of their states in fiscal management, highlighting their balanced budgets, tax reductions, debt reduction, and efficient governance. They advocated for the federal government to adopt similar practices, emphasizing the need for fiscal responsibility.

Spearheaded by South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster, the letter was signed by 26 Republican governors, including Georgia Governor Brian Kemp. The governors expressed their readiness to assist in the implementation of DOGE.

The letter was sent following a dinner between many of the governors and President-elect Trump at his Mar-a-Lago resort. Vermont Governor Phil Scott, while a member of the Republican Governors Association, did not sign the letter, maintaining his established practice of selective participation in such initiatives.
