Coming full circle in his golfing journey, Rickie Fowler has acquired the Murrieta Valley Golf Range in Southern California. This purchase holds special significance as it's the same range where Fowler honed his skills as a young golfer, learning the game from his grandfather. The acquisition comes shortly after his triumphant return to the winner's circle, securing his first PGA Tour victory in four years.
Fowler's connection to the range goes beyond mere practice; it represents a significant part of his personal history. His father contributed to the range's upkeep, exchanging his services for Fowler's practice time. "My dad used to deliver sand and gravel in trade for my practice sessions," Fowler shared in an interview.
Opened in 1992, the Murrieta Valley Golf Range has been a fixture in the local golfing community. Now, thanks to Fowler's investment, its future is secure. Expressing his desire to provide opportunities for the next generation, Fowler stated, "I've always hoped the range would remain open, offering the same chances I had to aspiring young golfers." This purchase fulfills a long-held dream, one he voiced during his high school years, to one day own the range.
With career earnings exceeding $55 million on the PGA Tour, Fowler's focus remains on capturing a major championship. He'll have the opportunity to pursue this goal at the upcoming Open Championship at Royal Liverpool.
