As President Trump's second term commences, Adam Swart, CEO of Crowds on Demand, a California-based firm specializing in organizing protests, has observed a significant decrease in requests from left-leaning organizations. This downturn contrasts sharply with the surge in demand witnessed during the lead-up to Trump's first term in 2017.
Swart attributes this decline to a sense of disillusionment among Democratic donors and strategists. He believes that the "outrage tactics" employed during Trump's first term have proven ineffective, leading to a reassessment of their approach. The decisive nature of Trump's recent election victory further underscores the perceived failure of these strategies.

Traditionally, Crowds on Demand experiences increased business from the opposing party following an election. However, the current political climate has bucked this trend. Swart suggests that the Democratic Party's reliance on what he terms "Trump Derangement Syndrome" – a fierce opposition to every action and statement made by the former president – has ultimately backfired.

He points to the example of Rep. Maxine Waters' 2018 call for public confrontation and harassment of Trump administration officials as an example of this counterproductive tactic. While such actions might have led to social ostracization during the first term, Swart argues that they are no longer effective. He notes that prominent figures in Silicon Valley and Wall Street are now openly associating with Trump, diminishing the social cost of such affiliations.

Swart cautions that continuing these tactics will further alienate moderate voters and benefit Republicans. He advises Democrats to adopt a more constructive approach, focusing on specific constituent needs, making positive emotional appeals, and applying consistent, respectful pressure.

He believes that relentless yet respectful engagement, coupled with a focus on positive messaging, is a more effective strategy for influencing moderate Republicans and achieving bipartisan cooperation.
