Six Dead in South Carolina House Fire, One Survivor Fights for Life; Suspect Charged with Attempted Murder

A devastating house fire in Green Pond, South Carolina, claimed the lives of six individuals, leaving one survivor in critical condition. Authorities responded to the scene around 11 a.m. on Sunday morning and discovered the horrific aftermath. The lone survivor was immediately airlifted to a nearby hospital. The identities and ages of the victims and the survivor have not yet been publicly released.

The incident has sent shockwaves through the small community located approximately 42 miles west of Charleston. A family spokesperson, Hiram Davis, expressed the profound tragedy of the event, emphasizing the importance of community vigilance and support. While the motive remains unclear, Davis urged residents to remain watchful and aware of their surroundings.

Law enforcement has taken swift action, arresting 33-year-old Ryan Lenard Manigo and charging him with attempted murder. Manigo is currently being held at the Colleton Detention Center. Authorities have indicated that additional charges may be filed pending the results of autopsies on the deceased. The South Carolina State Law Enforcement Division's arson investigators are assisting the Colleton County Sheriff's Office in the ongoing investigation.
