Ryan Seacrest has been officially announced as the next host of "Wheel of Fortune," taking over for the legendary Pat Sajak starting in 2024. The show's official Twitter account shared the exciting news, welcoming Seacrest to the stage.
In a statement, Seacrest expressed his humility at following in Sajak's footsteps, acknowledging the iconic 40-year run of Sajak and Vanna White. He praised Sajak's ability to connect with contestants and viewers, and looks forward to learning from him during the transition.

Currently known for hosting "American Idol," Seacrest's career has come full circle. He revealed that one of his earliest jobs was hosting a game show called "Click" for Merv Griffin 25 years ago. He also confirmed that Vanna White will remain on the show.
Seacrest's selection follows Sajak's retirement announcement two weeks prior. Before achieving widespread fame, Seacrest was mentored by broadcasting icon Dick Clark, who significantly influenced his career trajectory. The multi-talented Seacrest not only hosts numerous shows but also produces some of television's biggest hits. His estimated net worth is approximately $450 million.

Sajak's retirement announcement on June 12th marked the end of an era. Having hosted the show since 1981, he expressed gratitude for the "wonderful ride" and hinted at sharing more thoughts in the future. Following the news, many speculated that his daughter, Maggie Sajak, would succeed him. "Wheel of Fortune" initially premiered in 1975 with Chuck Woolery and Susan Stafford as hosts.
