On Tuesday night, a dramatic collision unfolded on the island of Java, Indonesia, when a train struck a truck immobilized at a railway crossing. The impact triggered a substantial explosion and subsequent fire, though remarkably, only one individual sustained injuries.
Semarang City Police Chief, Senior Commissioner Irwan Anwar, explained that the truck experienced a sudden breakdown on the tracks. The driver and another crew member sought assistance from the crossing guard, but the approaching train was too close to avert the collision.

Following the impact, the train caught fire, but the crew acted swiftly, bringing the train to a halt and ensuring the safe evacuation of all 626 passengers before themselves exiting the train. Anwar confirmed that only one passenger suffered minor injuries from a fall during the evacuation.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the truck's engine stalled while crossing the tracks, prompting the driver to seek help. Anwar emphasized that the truck was not trespassing on the tracks at the time of the incident.

Authorities are investigating the source of the fire, with the truck's fuel tank being considered a possible cause. The Indonesian Railway Company plans to seek full compensation from the truck operator for the damages to the train.
Local media reported passenger accounts of minor head injuries during the crash. The incident also resulted in significant traffic delays in the area.
