As President Trump's second term commences, his administration is preparing to implement a comprehensive deportation strategy to address the border crisis and illegal immigration. Tom Homan, the incoming border czar, offered insights into the plan during an appearance on "Fox News Live."
Homan emphasized the targeted nature of the operations, stating that ICE agents will be well-informed about the individuals they seek and their likely locations. The operations will be meticulously planned, taking into account the potential presence of children in households. The Wall Street Journal reported that a large-scale operation is scheduled for Chicago on Tuesday, focusing on individuals with criminal backgrounds.

Homan reiterated President Trump's commitment to border security and enforcing immigration laws, emphasizing the need for consequences for violations. He stressed the administration's intention to prioritize public safety, targeting individuals with criminal histories while also acknowledging the possibility of arresting anyone residing in the U.S. illegally. Currently, ICE's non-detained docket contains over 7 million individuals.

Homan also addressed the anticipated resistance from sanctuary cities, urging them to prioritize public safety and cooperate with ICE to apprehend individuals residing in the country illegally. He emphasized that the goal is not to turn local law enforcement into immigration officers, but rather to collaborate in making communities safer.
