At the AmericaFest event in Phoenix, Arizona, President-elect Donald Trump reiterated his commitment to prohibiting transgender athletes from competing in women's sports. He emphasized that this action would be one of his first priorities upon returning to office.
Addressing the crowd, Trump declared his intention to "stop the transgender lunacy" and sign executive orders to prevent what he termed "child mutilation" and remove transgender individuals from the military and schools. He specifically stated that barring transgender athletes from women's sports would occur "on Day 1" of his new term.
Trump also affirmed his belief in two genders – male and female – as official U.S. government policy under his administration.
This issue was a key differentiator between the two presidential candidates, with Trump being the only one to take a firm stance against transgender inclusion in women's sports. He had previously voiced this position during his Republican nomination acceptance speech in July.
In past appearances, such as his interview on Barstool Sports' "Bussin’ with the Boys," Trump has labeled the concept of transgender inclusion in women's sports as "ridiculous."
