A former Secret Service special agent, Robert McDonald, recently shed light on the investigative process the agency will undertake to determine the source of the cocaine discovered within the White House. In an interview with "The Ingraham Angle," McDonald expressed confidence that the Secret Service likely has a strong lead on the individuals involved.
The illicit substance was reportedly found in a cubby located in the West Wing's entry area, leading McDonald to speculate that it most likely belonged to a staff member or one of their guests, given the discovery occurred over the July Fourth weekend.

The timing of the discovery, following a holiday weekend, is significant. McDonald explained that the Secret Service routinely conducts sweeps of the area. Therefore, the cocaine was likely placed there around the time it was found, narrowing down the potential timeframe.
While a Politico report suggested the culprit might remain unidentified due to the high-traffic nature of the location, McDonald offered a counterpoint. He challenged the notion, along with a suggestion by a CNN reporter that a member of the public could be responsible. McDonald emphasized that public tours utilize a separate entrance, and the cubbies where the substance was found are specifically used for specialized tours arranged for guests of individuals working within the White House complex.
McDonald highlighted the difference in foot traffic between a regular weekday and a holiday weekend, emphasizing that the Secret Service would have a clear understanding of who was present on the premises during that period. He stated, "They know every nook and cranny" of the White House.
Adding to his credibility, McDonald revealed his prior role as assistant special agent in charge of the vice presidential protective division during Joe Biden's tenure as vice president. White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre confirmed the administration's commitment to uncovering the truth, stating that President Biden considers it "very important to get to the bottom of this."

According to reports, the Secret Service is employing a comprehensive investigative approach, including DNA and fingerprint analysis, reviewing visitor logs, and examining surveillance footage. McDonald confirmed they will leverage all available resources, including collaboration with other agencies.
The Secret Service officially stated that their investigation aims to determine both how the drugs entered the White House and the circumstances surrounding their presence.
