Trump highlighted Burch's devout Catholicism, large family, and leadership of CatholicVote, one of the nation's largest Catholic advocacy organizations. The former president also noted Burch's role in securing a significant Catholic vote during the previous election.

Butker, who has publicly backed other conservative figures, expressed his enthusiasm for Burch's appointment on X (formerly Twitter), praising Burch's leadership within the Catholic community and praying for his success in this new role.

This endorsement follows Butker's controversial commencement speech at Benedictine College in May, where he encouraged female graduates to prioritize marriage and motherhood, sparking debate and criticism. He also addressed his views on the current political climate and abortion during the speech.

Butker recently returned to the field for the Chiefs after undergoing surgery on his left knee, missing four games due to the injury.
