Blair Featherman, identified as the woman in the video, told the Daily Mail that the footage omits crucial details that provide a more complete understanding of the situation. The original video, uploaded by a family member involved, shows Featherman complaining about a "Mexican party" at the pool. Featherman is seen approaching the person filming and attempting to knock the phone away. She admits to using harsh language, calling the family "low-class" and "trash," and telling them to "go back down to Denver." However, Featherman claims this behavior was a reaction to being provoked. She alleges that the family initiated the conflict by violating pool rules and allowing an excessive number of guests. Featherman says she was subjected to racial slurs before the recording began, which further escalated the tension.

Featherman, who describes herself as an art consultant and feng shui expert, states that she was physically assaulted during the incident. She claims a woman scratched her so severely that the woman's artificial nails broke off. Featherman says the video was edited to remove this attack. She explains that the objects she is seen retrieving from her purse later in the video are not pills or earrings, as some social media users speculated, but the broken nails of her alleged attacker.
