Following criticism over his appearance while reporting on the Southern California wildfires, ABC anchor David Muir adjusted his attire during Thursday's broadcast. Previously, Muir had been mocked on social media for seemingly using clothespins to tighten his fireproof jacket during Wednesday's "ABC World News Tonight." Critics, including Jack Osbourne, pointed to the perceived vanity of focusing on appearance amidst a disaster.

In contrast to Wednesday's fitted look, Muir opted for a looser, open jacket on Thursday's broadcast. Footage also showed him without the jacket, wearing casual clothing as he assessed the fire damage. This change followed widespread online attention and negative commentary regarding his previous attire choices.

The incident coincided with other recent controversies surrounding ABC News, including issues related to "The View" co-host Sunny Hostin's husband. Fox News Digital contacted ABC News for comment.
