Payton McNabb, a former high school volleyball player who sustained a serious facial injury during a match involving a transgender opponent, has been invited by President Donald Trump to attend his address to Congress on Tuesday night. McNabb's advocacy for fairness in women's sports has gained national attention, particularly after she spoke out about her injury, which occurred during her junior year at Hiwassee Dam High School in Murphy, North Carolina. She was also present at Trump's signing of the "No Men in Women's Sports" executive order.

McNabb expressed surprise and gratitude for the invitation, emphasizing her appreciation for Trump's support of her advocacy. The incident, where she was struck by a spiked ball, resulted in a concussion, a brain bleed, and persistent whiplash. She later experienced partial paralysis and vision issues. McNabb believes this invitation signifies Trump's acknowledgment of her efforts and those of others fighting to maintain separate competitive categories in sports. While she doesn't anticipate her personal story being a focal point of the address, she acknowledges it would be a significant gesture if the President chose to mention it.

President Trump's address is expected to cover both domestic and international policy, with a particular emphasis on government efficiency.
