During a performance at Pier 17 in New York City on Sunday, June 18th, singer Bebe Rexha was struck in the head by a cell phone thrown from the audience. Video footage circulating online captures the moment the phone hits Rexha, causing her to stumble and then collapse on stage. Crew members quickly rushed to her aid and escorted her backstage.

The NYPD confirmed that Rexha was transported by EMS to a local hospital in stable condition. 27-year-old Nicolas Malvagna from New Jersey was arrested at the scene and charged with assault. According to the NYPD, the incident occurred around 10:00 PM. Malvagna allegedly intentionally threw the cell phone, striking Rexha in the face.
