Investigators discovered notebooks containing records of names and alleged payments, but it's unclear if any money was actually sent to the children's families. The children were found in rented rooms, working from sunrise to sunset, and described as being dirty, poorly clothed, and malnourished. Two individuals were apprehended at the scene, though specific charges haven't been disclosed yet. Mexican law prohibits child exploitation and trafficking. The rescued children are now under the care of child protective services, and their eventual return to their families remains uncertain.
